Technologies that are 'In the Market' are classified in the Industiral Emergence Framework as being in the Nurture and Growth Phase, as follows:
Nurture Phase - these technologies have been developed to a Application Demonstrator proving that they can be produced affordably in the market in which they are intended to be used. However there is still development required to show that the technology can be the basis of a profitable business. At this stage the skills require move from technical to business based.
Growth Phase - at this point the technology has been developed to a Commercial Application Demonstrator which shows that the technology can indeed be the basis of a profitable business. At this point the growth of these businesses need to be supported through business development and iterative technology development to ensure consistent service provision.
